A NOTE ON CANON:
What's in and what's out.

Main Article: Stargate canon

Here on Legacy we adhere to the established Stargate canon, observed in SG-1, Atlantis and Universe. Just as the Wiki article above explains, elements from the original film (so long as they don't contradict the TV series) and the later films are also accepted. The books, games and comic books published under the Stargate title fit in here somewhere but Hayles and myself aren't personally acquainted with them, so if you make reference to them be specific. The events of the animated series Stargate Infinity isn't included for obvious reasons.

If you haven't seen any Stargate you can probably still get by - we've had members in the past do this and flourish. Mind you, a basic understanding of the show’s franchise premise and history would be very beneficial.

As a spiritual successor to Stargate Delta the events from that site (Delian Expedition, original Stargate Academy, original Task Force Ida and the DHS Special Investigations Unit) are accepted and encouraged canon but will not enforced. You won't be at a disadvantage if you haven't been on these sites, and I ask members to clearly explain any references they make to Delta. By the same token you can throw Delta canon out the window and start your character again fresh or play them from an entirely different angle. Likewise, affiliate sites such as the Stargate Academy re-boot and Stargate Zeta can be considered canon, but again it's optional and should be fully explained to the benefit of new members.
